Shimano 6'6"Compre conventional (casting) rod rated for 15-30lb (model
CPC66MHB). This is a very versatile conventional outfit and is
perfect for choice for blackfish when using sinker weights up to 12
ounces.We recommend a reel loaded with
30lb Berkley Big Game Braid which is attached to a 4ft length of
50lb Yo-Zuri Disappearing Pink Fluorocarbon leader using a
130lb Mustad Rolling Swivel. The small profile of the swivel
virtually eliminates any chance of picking up debris or snagging
on any wreckage..
The rig we recommend consists of a dropper loop 6" above a loop
that is passed through the eye of a 4-8oz bank sinker. A 9"
length of
50lb Yo-Zuri Disappearing Pink Fluorocarbon leader tipped with a
4/0 Mustad Ultrapoint Beak Bait style hook. This is an incredibly
sharp hook and is very effective at penetrating the tough mouths of
blackfish.
