Capt Andy and Capt Rich are joined by Paul Michele from Yo-Zuri. They get into an incredible topwater bite on bluefish in Norwalk, CT. They are sight casting to bluefish that are finning on the surface. All the action is on Yo-Zuri surface lures and light tackle. The fish are everywhere and amazingly aggressive the catch even includes several fish in the mid-teens. The rod and reel combo seen on the show featured a Shimano Stradic 4000FH reel on a 7' Teramar rod rated for 10-20lb (model TMS70-MH). This is a very versatile spinning outfit and is perfect for northeast plugging.

We recommend a reel loaded with 20lb Berkley Fireline which is attached to a 3ft length of 50lb Yo-Zuri Disappearing Pink Fluorocarbon leader using a 130lb SPRO Power Swivel.

The rig is completed with a Yo-Zuri Hydro Pencil. This lures was effective in all colors and the gentle landing and action of the Hydro Pencil prevented the fish from spooking.

All the tackle used on Northeast Angling is stored in Ameripack tackle systems. The Backpack Tackle system is used to get the tackle to the fish! All the rods and reels are transported using the Rod Pods and the Reel Locker. They insure that everything makes it to the shoot in perfect condition. The raging current made the net choice especially critical. A Frabill Powercatch net with it's extendable handle was used and ensured that none of the fish were lost at boat-side. This is a a great net that stores easily and all you have to do is slide, lock and load and it is ready to go!

The boat used was a 2286CC Triton powered by a 250hp Mercury Verado. This boat is the real deal. With a deep-v hull and sharp entry, the 2286 will knife through a chop that would leave most boats back at the dock. The deck layout makes it the perfect platform for both inshore and offshore, plugging, trolling, or fishing your favorite hot spot at anchor.
