Captains Andy and Rich hook up with Fisherman publisher Fred Golofaro. They spend the day experiencing
the fall bite in the surf on the south fork of Long Island. Blitzing fish, screaming
birds, and load of action. They catch plenty of blues and bass to
over 20lbs on plugs, bucktails, and soft plastic shads. The techniques and tackle in this show can be
used by anyone who wants to experience the fall surf run. If you have questions about any of the
equipment used during the show, please contact us
or send us a message. |

| Andy and Rich were using
Shimano
Spheros 8000 reels. These reels have a waterproof drag system
which is perfect for the surf. The reel stayed smooth despite
being dunked repeatedly in the surf. |
 |
|
| The reels were mounted on 11ft
medium/heavy, fast action
G-Loomis
surf rods. The
rods were rated for 12-30lb test and lure weights up to 3 ounces.
These rods had no problem handling either big plugs or medium size
plastics. The rods were extremely powerful, lightweight, and gave
us unbelievable casting distance and accuracy. G-Loomis makes a
great selection of surf rods that are prefect for every saltwater
application. |

|
| Andy and Rich were both wearing the
amazing
Tailwaters XT waders from
Orvis. These
waders are attached directly to the wading shoe with a built-in stocking
foot support. The boots lace up quickly and easily and fit
perfectly. They are incredibly comfortable and completely dry. They also
fold up into a very small and lightweight carry bag. |

|
| All the tackle used on
Northeast Angling is stored in
Ameripack tackle
systems. The Backpack Tackle system is used to get the tackle to
the fish! All the rods and reels are transported using the Rod
Pods and the Reel Locker. They insure that everything makes it to
the shoot in perfect condition. Their versatile Fly Boxes are also
used for bucktails and rigs. |

| Accommodations were provided by
our good friend Jimmy at
Daunt's
Albatross Motel (631) 668-2867. A beautiful white sand
beach is just a few steps from the door. The ride to either the
east or west side of Lake Montauk and the marinas is only a few minutes.
It is just a very brief walk from the heart of the town. For the
non-fishermen in your party it is close by are the many other
attractions Montauk is famous for. Including fabulous restaurants,
stores, horseback riding, and golf. They have two pools, tennis courts,
an aerobic studio and a garden area that is perfect for a cookout. |

anglers to spend long hours on the water without having to worry about
