| Captains Andy and Rich headed back up to
Point Judith to get in on a red hot school tuna bite. Captain Mike
Neto of the
Adrianna
Charters (401-573-3474) shared his secrets for small boat
tuna fishing. The bite was non-stop and they caught way too many
bluefin tuna, false albacore, and green bonito to count. Some of
the fish were nearly 30lbs and all were caught on only medium weight
conventional tackle. The fish were following around the draggers
and were even caught on jigs.
If you have questions about any of the
equipment used during the show, please contact us
or send us a message. |

| The outfit used consisted of a
Shimano
Torium 20 conventional reel on a matching 7' MH medium fast action
Tallus rod rated for17-30lb test line. This combination is a
great fit for this type of fishing. The rod was
perfect for trolling school tuna . |
 |
|
|
| The reels were loaded with
30lb
Berkley Big Game. This the the perfect application for
a quality monofilament line. The forgiveness of the line ensures
that even the spookiest of bass sense nothing on the initial pickup.
A
6-8ft
leader of 60lb
Berkley Vanish was attached to the main line using an 130lb
SPRO Power
Swivel. The rig is completed with a variety of Sevenstrand
Tuna Clones and Hex Heads. The fish were also caught on the deadly
SPRO
swimming jigs. |

| Special thanks go out to Craig at
Erickson's Bait and Tackle (401-739-7437). Craig prepared all the
tackle that was used during the show. |

|
| All the tackle used on
Northeast Angling is stored in
Ameripack tackle
systems. The Backpack Tackle system is used to get the tackle to
the fish! All the rods and reels are transported using the Rod
Pods and the Reel Locker. They insure that everything makes it to
the shoot in perfect condition. Their versatile Fly Boxes are also
used for bucktails and rigs. |

|
| These strong, fast fish made the net choice especially
critical. A
Frabill
Powercatch net with it's extendable handle was used and ensured that
none of the fish were lost at boat-side. This is a a great net that stores easily and all
you have to do is slide, lock and
load and it is ready to go! |
