| The late September
visit to Gloucester Massachusetts found the Andy, Rich and their host, Capt. John Pirie of On-Line Fishing Charters
(978-468-1314), involved in a run and gun shootout with Bluefin Tuna.
Bluefin Tuna from 50lbs and up were busting the surface in pursuit of
mackerel and baby bunker. The fishing was highlighted by breathtaking
high speed runs to the feeding fish. If
you have questions about any of the equipment used during the show, please contact us
or send us a message.

| Two separate setups were used.
The first setup featured a
Shimano Spheros
5000 spinning reel matched with a 7' MH Atlantic series rod rated for
17-30lb test line. The second setup was the new
Shimano Torium 30
conventional reel matched with a 7' MH Tallus rod. If you are not

| The terminal tackle
consisted of a 3-4 foot 60 or 80lb
Fluorocarbon leader attached to the main line via a 230lb test
SPRO swivel. The rig was tipped with either a 4 ounce
SPRO swimming jig or a Stillwater
5 inch - 1 1/4 ounce Smack-It popping plug. The jig clearly had the
better casting distance, but the popping plug drew the most dramatic
strikes. |
| Andy and Rich were wearing
polarized sunglasses supplied by
Azores Eyewear.
Finally someone has come out with a premium sunglass line at a reasonable
price (less than $80). The polarized lenses eliminate glare and allows
anglers to spend long hours on the water without having to worry about
headaches and eyestrain. All models have 100% UVA and UVB protection.
Never settle for anything else. No angler should be without these
glasses. |
